Creating Balance Navigating Life

It is not fully known where the concept or idea of creating and achieving balance originated.  However, looking back at different ancient cultures and beliefs, it is not hard to determine that finding balance was of great importance in every aspect of ancient civilizations.

Maintaining balance is often overlooked in modern times, particularly when it comes to achieving success and personal growth.  Today life is centered around a busy five or even six days working week with constant multitasking and the overused words of "always work hard". Yet maintaining balance is not just about avoiding hard work, failure or falling, but it's about finding equilibrium in all aspects of life.

Consider these points:

  • Whether it's balancing work and personal life, health, compassion for others, or even emotions and reasoning, finding that middle ground is crucial for overall well-being.

  • In leadership, balance is equally important. It helps you to prioritize tasks, manage your time effectively, show empathy and kindness, and consider different viewpoints which are all crucial parts of maintaining a balanced approach.

  • Leaders, if you lead a team know that balance is one of your best strategies to develop a high-performance team and inspire them to become their best selves.

  • Some avenues to consider when seeking to create balance are being coachable, open-minded, being receptive to feedback, and that willingness to learn and adapt.  Life needs balance to enhance growth.

Remember creating balance in life and leadership is not about perfection, but about being mindful of the different elements at play and finding harmony with them.
