In the sphere of life and leadership, it is common to boast about our strengths and abilities, and that is good; but all this can sometimes be biased and centered around the popular saying 'feed your strengths and your weaknesses will die.'

However, many individuals often mistake their weaknesses for strengths and continue to nurture these flaws. It is crucial to recognize that weaknesses are not meant to be a source of shame, guilt or insult, but rather a guidepost on our journey through life. By acknowledging our weaknesses, we can transform them into strengths. Here are a few ways to deal with weaknesses:
✅ 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗮𝘀 '𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗹𝗲𝘀𝗵,' In other words, obstacles that hinder our progress. The Apostle Paul acknowledged his own thorn in the flesh and exposed it by calling it out. By doing so, he brought it to light, knowing that whatever we hid has power over us. By doing so, he stripped it of its power over him.
✅ Know that 𝗪𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲 '𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝘀,' be 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱. Discernment is key in identifying the origin of every weakness. As in the case of same Apostle Paul, he pinpointed through discernment that this weakness was a messenger sent from the adversary, Satan, sent to hold him back.
✅ 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻 its 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁. Despite our weaknesses, we can thrive. Prayer, training, mentoring, and coaching provide us with invaluable support in overcoming these weaknesses. Jesus' counselled Peter and highlighted that through his weakness, the enemy was trying to “sift him like wheat”, and he had prayed for him.
✅ Don't miss this! The prayer strengthened Peter’s faith, and we know the story of Peter well, though he failed, he was restored and went on to write many books of the New Testament.
Take this with you today. Together, we all can conquer our weaknesses through recognition and connection to those who will support, intercede, and guide us. By seeking constructive feedback and embracing the power of coaching, mentorship, and training we can be transformed and turn our weaknesses into strengths; which ultimately navigates us to our best chapter.
Remember, the journey to better begins with acknowledging our weaknesses and seeking the guidance of those who will empower us along the way.
